35-year-old man seriously hurt in grizzly bear attack in Wyoming, wildlife officials say
MISSOULA, Mont. (KECI) — A 35-year-old Massachusetts man was seriously hurt when he was attacked by a grizzly bear at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, according to wildlife officials. The National Park Service said the man had "a surprise encounter" with two grizzlies on Sunday afternoon in the Signal Mountain Summit Road area.
Rangers and Teton County Search and Rescue responded to provide medical attention. The patient was airlifted via helicopter to an ambulance, and then taken to the hospital.
Boeing 737 skids off runway in Dakar, sparking fire and injuring 10
DAKAR, Senegal (AP) — A Boeing 737-300 plane carrying 85 people skidded off a runway at the airport in Senegal's capital, injuring 10 people, according to the transport minister, an airline safety group and footage from a passenger that showed the aircraft on fire.
"Our plane just caught fire," wrote Malian musician Cheick Siriman Sissoko in a post on Facebook that showed passengers jumping down the emergency slides at night as flames engulfed one side of the aircraft at the airport in Dakar.
Snow begins in PA; forecast snow totals stay consistent for viewing area
The leading northern edge of the winter storm entered south-central Pennsylvania Friday afternoon. For example, snow began falling at 3 o'clock in the Johnstown area.
Severe Weather Team 6 meteorologists said the forecast snow totals from Thursday did not change much in Friday's models.
Winter storm warnings remained in effect for Cambria, Blair, Huntingdon, Bedford and Somerset Counties through Saturday.
Meteorologists said towns like Johnstown and Altoona are still projected to get 6-inches of snow.
Somerset County store prepares to reopen at start of yellow phase
SOMERSET, Pa. (WJAC) — More businesses will begin reopening their doors Friday morning at the beginning of the yellow phase in Bedford, Blair, Cambria and Somerset counties.
One business in Somerset County, Merchant Village will be opening their doors for the first time in months.
Back in March, owner, Aleicia Zimmerman decided to close their doors as a coronavirus precaution.

AG's office conducts search at DuBois city building, official confirms
DuBois, PA (WJAC) — DuBois City Police Chief Blaine Clark confirmed to 6 News that the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office search the DuBois City Building on Wednesday.
Chief Clark says that at approximately 4 p.m., agents with the AG's office served the DuBois administrative offices with search warrants.
The details of said search warrants were not provided.
The city is "fully cooperating" with the investigation, Chief Clark said.
He also noted that the police department is not involved with the investigation.
Charity golf outing, mini-golf bar crawl coming to Johnstown
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — A charity golf outing, and mini-golf bar crawl, is coming to Johnstown to raise money for military members and their families.
The "Special Operations Cup" is a modified-scramble style golf tournament, with proceeds going toward the Special Forces Foundation, a non profit that supports green berets and their families, as well as Gold Star families, which are families that lost a loved one while serving in the military.
Child, 4, shot and killed at PA gas station
Chester, PA — A four-year-old child was fatally shot Tuesday morning, around 9 a.m., at a gas station in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Chester police vehicles and yellow crime time could be seen stretched between two of the gas pumps.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing as investigators try to determine who pulled the trigger.
The district attorney called it a tragic day.

Cicada Brood XIX, which emerges every 13 years, and Brood XIII, which emerges every 17 years, will be buzzing together for the first time since 1803.
