NFL suspends Steelers safety Damontae Kazee following hit on Colts WR
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The NFL announced Monday that Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee has been suspended for the remainder of the season for "violating playing rules intended to protect the health and safety of players."
Kazee was ejected during the second quarter of Saturday's game against the Colts following a hit on wide-receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Authorities with Penn State University police say a campus professor is facing charges after being accused of stalking and taking "up-skirt" photos of a fellow faculty member.

Steelers sign veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander to 1-year deal
Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed free agent linebacker Kwon Alexander to a one-year deal.
Alexander, who is entering his 9th season in the NFL, is coming off of a breakout year with the New York Jets.
He has played in 95 career games, recording 12.5 sacks, 8 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.
Alexander was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 and has also previously played for the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers.
Blair Co. church to host its first ever living nativity scene
Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Members of the Faith Baptist Church in Altoona are getting ready to host their first ever live nativity.
It features real people portraying the roles of those involved in the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Visitors to the display will start at the Faith Baptist Church, located on 40th Street, where they will receive popcorn and hot chocolate and a QR code to use on their phones to listen to audio that accompanies the production.

Diocese cancels daily Masses, confessions at St. John Gualbert Cathedral due to COVID-19
JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown announced that daily Masses and Confessions at the St. John Gualbert Cathedral have been cancelled through Feb. 12 due to COVID-19 concerns.
Both Sunday morning masses will still be held, however, and communion will still be distributed in the parking lot Sunday, at 12:30 p.m.
Church officials will also open the cathedral for private prayer from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Massachusetts spent nearly $400K to review vaccine records in state shelters, report says
BOSTON (TND) — Massachusetts has spent nearly $400,000 on “vaccine record reviews” for migrants and other individuals staying in its emergency shelters, according to a state report obtained by the Boston Herald.
The findings came as part of a biweekly report on the shelter system released by state finance officials. The document reportedly disclosed the state has spent $381,000 since September 2023 on immunization review expenses alone.
Vaccination status has become an important metric to state officials looking to keep shelters safe and healthy.
State police identify man killed in hit-and-run in Blacklick Township
BLACKLICK TOWNSHIP - The coroner's office and state police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that happened just outside of Nanty Glo Tuesday night.
State police said the man who was killed is 22-year-old Jacob Hale from Mineral Point. Hale was found lying on Cardiff Road in Blacklick Township just before midnight, Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said.
Hale was apparently struck by a vehicle in a dark and rural area, according to Lees.
Woman abducted in one of state's biggest manhunts reflects 50 years later
HUNTINGDON -- It was one of the biggest manhunts of the time. On May 11, 1966, Peggy Ann Bradnick was abducted after getting off the school bus in Shade Gap by a man with a sawed off shotgun. She spent eight days with William Hollinbaugh, now dubbed "8 days of terror." She was beaten, abused and starved at just 17 years old.
She lived to tell her story and it's one she's always believed was orchestrated by God.
