Johnstown Area Heritage Association presents Glosser Brothers Holiday Tales
The Johnstown Area Heritage Association hosted author Robert Jeschonek on Saturday to give a presentation about his latest book.
The book, titled, ‘Glosser Bros. Holiday Tales’, features a series of fictional stories about the once beloved Glosser Brothers Department Store here in Johnstown.
The author aims to bring back some of the feelings of nostalgia for those that grew up going to the store and also to preserve its memory.

Reynoldsville councilwoman Mary Jane Clark dies
REYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (WJAC) — The Borough of Reynoldsville announced Monday that longtime councilwoman Mary Jane Clark has died.
According to the borough, Clark died Saturday morning at the Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Clark, 74, had served on the borough council since 2002 and also worked with the Reynlow Park board, RAID and Chamber of Commerce boards, according to the borough. Clark also served as a volunteer EMT for the Reynoldsville Ambulance Company.
Somerset woman charged after late-night police chase ends in arrest
A 26-year-old Somerset woman has been charged after she allegedly led police on a late-night chase Tuesday.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, just after 11 p.m. Conemaugh Township police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Erica Barkman, of Somerset, at the Go Moore Store along Woodstown Highway.
The vehicle then took off toward state Route 219, according to the affidavit.
Windber and state police departments were called to assist in the pursuit.

Johnstown funeral home gives back to community using items left behind by loved ones
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — When we think of a funeral, many typically think of tragedy and mourning. But the family-run Frank Duca Funeral Home and Crematory in Johnstown looks to make something positive out of some people's darkest days.
The Duca family is giving back to the community in a unique way. After running their funeral home in Johnstown for over 72 years, the family decided to open a crematory in 2015.
Leg in Lake Erie from Ohio plane crash
ERIE, Pa. -- A human leg found off the Pennsylvania coast of Lake Erie was from one of three unaccounted for victims of a plane crash near Cleveland last year.
Erie County, Pennsylvania Coroner Lyell Cook confirmed the DNA findings Friday. He said the crash victims' families asked his office not to specify to which victim the leg belonged.
The Dec. 29 crash killed six people, including three found soon after: pilot John Fleming, 45, of Dublin, Ohio; his 15-year-old son, Jack; and a family friend, Brian Casey, 50, of Powell, Ohio.

Shooting threat on social media prompts police presence at Richland School District
UPDATE:RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Richland School District officials say a police investigation has found that the threat circulating social media was directed at a North Carolina school.
Officials say the Richland School District in Cambria County will still see an increased police presence Tuesday as a continued precaution.
