BELLEFONTE, Pa (WJAC) — Officials with North Shore Railroad are investigating a minor train derailment that occurred in Bellefonte Friday afternoon.
North Shore spokesperson Jeb Stotter confirmed that the incident occurred around 3 p.m. Friday in the area of Sunnyside Blvd., and it involved two locomotives that were pulling several train cars.
Stotter added that the derailment led to the road being closed for over an hour and that the cause is under investigation.
No injuries were reported and cleanup crews should be finished by Monday.
More information on the cause of the derailment should be known by next week.
