The 74th annual Maple Festival kicked off in Somerset County this weekend.

Dozens of people gathered at the Meyersdale Lions Club on Saturday morning for some sausage and pancakes...served with some fresh maple syrup of course.

Visitors could stop by the quilt show, many vendors, tractor and truck shows, all while watching live entertainment.

Rebecca Wright was crowned the 74th Maple Queen who said the festival is a tradition for many families.

"They just have a strong passion for it. Because it's so family-oriented, they love every part of it," she said.

Rebecca was crowned on April 10th, and said the events were pushed back this year due to COVID.

"I don't know if there's one word to describe it, but honestly it's back to just being proud. I am so proud to represent so many people that have helped me get this far, and to continue representing as I go," she told 6 News.
