Free turkey giveaway to help local families
Next week in Somerset County, MGP Rat Bikes and 3C’s Church will be giving away 100 turkeys.
It's an annual event that helps local families enjoy Thanksgiving dinner without worrying about the cost.
Organizers say they've been receiving calls about the event and that they look forward to doing it each year.
Michael Ragozzino, pastor of 3C’s Church, said, “We wanted to make sure people know that we’re not just a bike shop, that we have a church here, 3C’s Church is on Boyers Pond Campground, we’re open on Sundays at 10:30.
Stan Savran, longtime broadcaster known as Godfather of Pittsburgh sports, dies at 76
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Stan Savran, who spent nearly five decades in sports broadcasting chronicling Pittsburgh’s rise to the “City of Champions,” has died. He was 76.
WTAE-TV, where Savran worked as a sports anchor in the 1980s, announced Savran’s death on Monday. No official cause of death was given but Savran, who was living in Upper St. Clair in the city’s southern suburbs, had been very public about his battle with lung cancer in recent years.

Mifflin Co. man accused of repeatedly sexually abusing two young girls at private daycare
Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Mifflin County say a Reedsville man is behind bars following an investigation into accusations that he repeatedly sexually abused two young girls.
Police say Michael Mowery, 61, faces dozens of charges after two girls came forward earlier this year to report that they had each been molested by him at his home, which operated as a private daycare.
According to the affidavit, police say Mowery allegedly abused one of the victims from the time she was 5-years-old until age 11.
Thunder in the Valley is back in Johnstown for the 25th anniversary

6 News spoke with one of the event organizers who says things are ramped up this years special event.
“It’s our 25th year,” said Jayne Korenoski, the Director of advertising and sales with Visit Johnstown.
